Legal-Grade is TimeProof’s courtroom-ready upgrade package. A standard timestamp proves that a file existed at a specific time. Legal-Grade adds the stronger evidence set used for formal disputes, audits, and legal review.

Inside the ZIP, reviewers can access the certificate files, Merkle proof data, identity attestation, verification instructions, and checksum records.
Verification Requirement
Legal-Grade requires identity verification, and identity verification is included with every monthly plan. That is why Legal-Grade is available only in the verified tier.
The attestation does not publish the user’s personal documents. It creates a signed proof that the account holder was verified at the relevant time.

The cost is plan-aware and batch-based, not a separate timestamp type. Larger verified batches still spread the evidence cost more efficiently, but Starter/Pro and Business now scale differently after the first 25 files.
How to Use It
- Start a verified monthly plan and complete identity verification.
- Create a scheduled or instant timestamp batch.
- Enable Legal-Grade before confirming the batch.
- Download the evidence package once processing completes.
Scheduled plus Legal-Grade is usually the lower-cost option for planned evidence work. Instant plus Legal-Grade is the right choice when timing must be recorded immediately.
Third-Party Package Purchase
TimeProof also supports a separate third-party purchase flow for existing verified timestamps. That path is useful when a lawyer, auditor, or reviewer needs the courtroom-ready package without coordinating directly with the original account owner.
This third-party purchase flow is separate from the in-product Legal-Grade upgrade used by verified subscribers on their own batches.
When to Use Legal-Grade
Use Legal-Grade when:
- a dispute is likely or already active
